1NESS® Chlorine Dioxide Drops belong in every emergency kit. They pack small for camping, hiking and travel. The two-bottle set holds Sodium Chlorite and Hydrochloric Acid. Mixed one-to-one, they release Chlorine Dioxide, the water treatment chemical public water plants have used for decades.
What It Is: A complete 2oz Water Treatment Kit with 4% Hydrochloric Acid (Part B) and 28% Sodium Chlorite (Part A), for the water you store at home or carry with you.
How It Works: We recommend 5 drops from each bottle per gallon: gently swirl and wait 1 minute, add to the gallon and mix well. The mix turns amber. That is the chlorine dioxide forming.

Your kit includes two bottles that work together to release Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2), the water treatment chemical public water plants have used for decades.
Part A: 28% Sodium Chlorite Solution
Part B: Acid Activator (either 4% Hydrochloric Acid or 50% Citric Acid, depending on your purchase)
Both activators make the same chlorine dioxide. Citric turns a deeper amber and is the easy default. Hydrochloric acid activates faster and keeps longer on the shelf.
- In a clean glass or plastic cup, never metal, add 5 drops of Part A.
- Add 5 drops of Part B.
- Gently swirl and wait 1 minute. The mix turns amber. That is the chlorine dioxide forming.
- Add it to 1 gallon of water and mix well.

Same 5 and 5 for every gallon. Always use equal drops of Part A and Part B.
Keep both bottles in a cool, dark place. A pantry works. Keep away from sunlight and heat. Do not freeze. For long storage, use the screw caps, not the droppers, so less air gets in.
- Always use glass or plastic cups. Never metal.
- It is not a filter: it does not remove lead, metals, salt, or fuel. For those you need a filter or a different source.
- Muddy water: pour it through a clean cloth first, then treat it.
- If the mix does not turn amber, the bottle has lost strength. Contact us and we will make it right.

The outdoor store ClO2 water purifying products (~2%) are good enough for a quart at a time, but this product is a lot easier for larger quantities as it is ~20%. It comes in nice glass bottles with glass doppers.
