**Our answer, plainly: one to two full droppers, twice a day. Four dropperfuls in a day is the
One Full Dropper of Soursop Fruit and Leaf Extract
ceiling.** One in the morning, one in the afternoon or evening, is the pattern most people settle
into.
That is for our liquid extract. If you are drinking tea or eating the fruit, the amounts are further
down.
Why every answer you find is different
Search this question and you will get two cups a day, three cups a day, two weeks on, three months
on, five leaves, fifteen leaves. The advice contradicts itself constantly, and the reason is that
most of it is written by people summarising other summaries rather than describing a specific
product.
A number is only meaningful attached to a form and a strength. A dropperful of a concentrated
extract and a mug of weak leaf tea are not comparable, and neither is a bowl of fresh fruit.
The unit mistake that matters most
Droppers, not drops.
This is the single most common error we see. A drop is one bead of liquid off the pipette. A
dropperful is the pipette filled to the line, which is roughly a millilitre. **They differ by
something like twentyfold.**
If a label or a person says "drops" and means dropperfuls, and you take them literally, you will take
almost nothing and conclude it did not work. Read which one is meant.
By form
Liquid extract: one to two full droppers, twice daily. Four dropperfuls daily maximum. Straight
under the tongue or stirred into water or juice, both are fine.
Leaf tea: commonly five to ten leaves steeped in hot water, and most sources suggest keeping to a
cup or two a day rather than drinking it continuously.
Fresh fruit: it is a food. People eat half to a whole one. There is no measured serving because
nobody weighs fruit.
How long
This is the question with the least honest information around it, and we would rather say that
than invent a number. Traditional use is generally described as periods rather than permanently, and
published guidance is not consistent.
What we can say concretely: the compounds in soursop leaf have been studied for effects on the nervous
system with heavy, prolonged consumption, and that research concerns sustained long-term leaf intake
rather than moderate use. **If you intend to take anything daily and indefinitely, that is a
conversation for your doctor, not for a page on the internet.**
Who should be more careful
If you are pregnant or nursing, if you take blood pressure or blood sugar medication, or if you have a
scan booked, speak to your doctor before starting. Soursop is discussed in the medical literature
alongside those specific situations, which makes them worth raising rather than guessing about.
Do not eat the seeds. Scoop them out of the fruit.
Start low
Whatever form you use, start at the bottom of the range and stay there for a while. You learn nothing
by starting at the maximum, and there is no prize for it.
We wrote the whole thing down.
Our free guide covers what soursop is, the forms it comes in, how people use it and what to watch for,
without the contradictions.
