**If you are measuring in drops, the answer is probably not what you are looking for. One to two full
One Dropper, 60 Servings of Soursop Extract
droppers, twice a day, is the dose for our liquid extract.** That is dropperfuls, not drops, and the
difference matters enough to spend a moment on it.
Drops versus dropperfuls
This is not a pedantic correction. The labelling across the herbal supplement industry is genuinely
inconsistent, and plenty of products and websites use "drops" when they mean "dropperfuls." If you
searched "how many soursop drops a day," you are in good company.
A drop is one bead of liquid that falls off the tip of a pipette. A dropperful is the pipette filled
to the line, which is roughly one millilitre of liquid. The two differ by something like twentyfold.
If you read a dose as drops and take it literally, you are getting a small fraction of the intended
amount. You might conclude the product does not work, when the actual issue is a unit mismatch. The
same product dosed correctly may feel entirely different.
Our dose, stated plainly
One to two full droppers, twice a day. Four dropperfuls in a day is the ceiling.
One dropper in the morning and one in the evening is the pattern most people settle into. If you are
starting out, one dropper twice a day is a reasonable place to begin before deciding whether to move
to two.
A dropperful means the rubber bulb compressed, inserted, released, and filled to the line on the glass
tube. That is the unit. Not a partial squeeze, not a few quick drops. Fill it to the line.
How to take it
Straight under the tongue is one way. Hold it there for thirty seconds or so before swallowing. Some
people prefer to stir it into a small amount of water or juice. Both are fine. The extract has a mild
herbal flavor that most people find easy to take either way.
Why the dose range, not a single number
One dropper twice a day and two droppers twice a day are both within the intended range. People vary
in weight, in sensitivity to botanicals, and in what they are hoping the product does for them. A
lower dose is a reasonable starting point for anyone who is new to soursop or cautious about how their
body responds. The ceiling of four dropperfuls a day is there because more is not automatically
better, and that is true of essentially any botanical preparation.
Start at the low end. Give it time. Move up only if you feel the lower amount is not doing what you
hoped, not out of impatience on week one.
A note on children, pregnancy and medications
Soursop comes up in the medical literature alongside blood pressure medications, blood sugar
medications, and pregnancy. If any of those apply to you, speak to your doctor before starting. This
is not a boilerplate warning to skip. Those are specific documented interactions worth an actual
conversation.
We wrote the whole thing down.
